Tactical American Patriots (TAPS) — a veteran-owned, Little Falls, Minnesota-based tactical training, services and gear company — is now offering firearms safety and permit-to-carry classes to the local community.
According to the Morrison County Record, Kevin Brown and Caleb Hansen started TAPS with an expressed desire of decreasing community violence by helping others be more vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
The company got off the ground by selling apparel with patriotic sayings, such as caps and T-shirts with sayings like “American by birth, patriot by choice” or “Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one” on them.
“We want to promote patriotism by using critical thinking,” said Brown. “We are not blaming any one organization when it comes to the right to bear arms, just the concept that many people have. We want people to think about what to do to stop the violence, not promote knee-jerk reactions.”
As the Morrison County Record reports, the popularity of those products has allowed TAPS to expand their business model by offering Minnesota Permit to Carry Training, NRA Basic Pistol, and NRA First Steps Pistol classes.
“Everyone needs to feel comfortable when it comes to personal safety,” Brown said.
The classes are currently offered in LeBlanc’s Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation, or in the privacy of one’s home, the Morrison County Record noted. To learn more, contact Brown at 1 (866) 632-7144 or visit TAPS’ official website.
