ArtFit, a Lubbock, Texas-based company that offers a variety of fitness and martial arts programs for the local community, is now teaching a ladies-only firearms and defensive tactics class.
According to MyFoxLubbock, the class teaches women a variety of self-defense techniques to employ in dangerous situations. Attendees will also learn how to use guns safely, as well as tasters, knives and pepper spray. Situational awareness is another key component of self-defense taught to students.
The class is helmed by local law enforcement officer Walt Bushey, who told MyFoxLubbock that female students who take the Women’s Basic Practical Pistol Course “will learn to protect themselves, become comfortable handling a gun, learn their rights and limitations, learn how to work a firearm and will learn safe handling and targeting.”
This ladies-only class is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost of attendance is $35, which includes ammunition and a gun rental. Bringing your own firearm is not required.
To register, call 806-781-1354.
