Triton Fight Center, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training facility located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, is offering the first two classes completely free of charge for new students.
A great martial arts and self-defense system, Jiu-Jitsu has exploded in popularity over the past two decades, KRJH reports.
“I would say that if someone comes in here open minded, leaving their ego at the door willing to learn, Jiu-Jitsu can do wonders for people,” said Piet Wilhelm, the head instructor at Triton.
According to KRJH, Wilhelm has been practicing martial arts for over two decades. He vividly remembers the first time he came up against Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt.
“It was one submission after another after another, so I was pretty convinced that my martial arts at the time was not as dominant as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu,” Wilhelm said.
Wilhelm has seen firsthand how Jiu-Jitsu can change people’s lives.
“It helped me deal with my PTSD. It helped me deal with my anxiety, depression and it’s made me successful in life,” student Justin Pruitt told KRJH.
