This year Comp-Tac Victory Gear is celebrating 15 years of designing and manufacturing concealed carry, general range use and competition holsters. Tuesday, March 10 marks the 15th year since Gregg Garrett moved his Houston-based business out of the garage and into a full manufacturing facility.
Gregg Garrett, the owner and founder of Comp-Tac, made his first Kydex holster when he couldn’t find anything to fit his concealed carry needs. “I wanted a holster that would hold my gun, be comfortable to wear, didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and be able to get it in less than six weeks. I couldn’t find that holster anywhere on the market, so I built my own,” explained Garrett.
Since his first holster Garrett has continued to design and build market leading holsters in both concealed carry as well as competition gear. The demand for Garrett’s product has grown from those early days in the garage to the point where over 25 full-time employees work at Comp-Tac’s fully stocked manufacturing facility providing consumers with top-of-the-line products and customer service with the personal touch Comp-Tac is best known for.
“I bought my first holster from Gregg because I heard he made the best gear around. Now, I am grateful to help this company bring quality concealment and competition holsters to customers all over the United States and the world,” commented Gordon Carrell, General Manager of Comp-Tac.
With over 20 different holster styles, as well as magazine holders, light holders, pepper spray carriers and Long Gun Concealment Cases, Comp-Tac offers the widest product variety of any holster manufacturer on the market. Both concealed carry users and competitive shooters choose Comp-Tac for their everyday carry needs, and today it is the number one brand among members of the International Defensive Pistol Association.
