An armed citizen in La Porte, Indiana held the suspect of multiple car break-ins at gunpoint until police arrived.

According to WNDU, a man told police he watched from a distance as he saw a 17-year-old boy trying to break into his vehicle which was parked in the 100 block of Ohio Street at around midnight on July 8. When that break-in attempt was unsuccessful, he tried another vehicle in the 800 block of Ridge Street.
At that point, the man approached the suspect and used his firearm to hold the suspect there for the authorities.

Upon the arrival of police, the suspect told them he was breaking into cars looking for gas money for his own vehicle.
As WhatsNewLaPorte.com reports, police noticed the smell of alcohol on the teenager. When they searched him, they discovered generic Xanax pills, $13.88 in loose change, a flashlight, knife, a lighter and a $1 bill.

The suspect has been charged with theft, possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, curfew violation, and violation of ABC Acts.
