Apex Tactical Specialties has expanded its line of Apex Grade Threaded Barrels for the 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P, with Semi Drop-In and Gunsmith Fit variants now available.
- RELATED STORY: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Upgrades
These new stainless steel Apex Grade Threaded Barrels boast a 1:10″ twist rate and are designed for 9mm M&P pistols with 4.25″ and 5″ barrels, with the thread pattern being the commonly-used 1/2-28. According to the official release, the Semi Drop-In Threaded Barrel can be easily installed by the end user and will make the M&P capable of shooting a one and a half inch or better grouping at 25 yards. In other words, it’ll do wonders for your accuracy and performance.
The Gunsmith Fit Threaded Barrel, meanwhile, is designed to be installed by a trained gunsmith capable of performing an exact barrel fitting to a specific gun. Using this precise approach, your M&P will become capable of shooting a one inch or better grouping from 25 yards.
Apex conducted accuracy testing on these barrels using a mechanical rest to eliminate the human element and focus solely on the mechanical operation of the product. The result? The Apex Grade Threaded Barrels consistently delivered five-shot groups well under two inches at 25 yards, with 115gr., 124gr. or 147gr. factory ammo.
The new Apex Grade Threaded Barrels for the 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P retail for $259.95 and are available now at ApexTactical.com.
