New Savage Rascal Rifles: The Rascal FV-SR & Target XP

Savage Arms’ Rascal rifle series, geared toward youth shooters, has expanded with two new options: the Rascal FV-SR and Rascal Target XP.

Chambered in .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 LR, the Savage Rascal FV-SR features a 16.1-inch heavy barrel with a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle and 1:16 RH twist. It also comes with a precision hardwood stock and a one-piece Picatinny rail. In addition, it features Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger system. Similar to the original Rascal, this single-shot rifle cocks by lifting the bolt and unloads easily without pulling the trigger. OAL is 31.5 inches. The overall weight is 3.52 pounds. Available in matte black or pink, MSRP on this model is $219.

The single-shot Rascal Target XP, meanwhile, is also available in .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 LR. It has all the Rascal Target features, but it’s ready-to-rock out of the box with a mounted and boresighted 4x32mm scope, as well as a bipod sling swivel stud mount. Like the FV-SR, the Target XP sports a 16.1-inch heavy barrel with a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle and 1:16 RH twist; one-piece Picatinny rail; precision hardwood stock; and Savage AccuTrigger system.  Furthermore, it measures 30.625 inches in OAL and tips the scales at 5.886 pounds.
