Ruger has served up two new rifle offerings: the Ruger Scout Rifle in .450 Bushmaster and the Ruger 77/17 chambered in .17 WSM.

Introduced at the behest of hunters, the Ruger Scout Rifle in .450 Bushmaster sports a stainless steel finish; lightweight synthetic stock; 16.10-inch free-floated, cold hammer-forged barrel with a Ruger Precision Rifle hybrid muzzle brake; non-glare, protected blade front sight and ghost ring adjustable rear aperture sight; 4-round, detachable box magazine; glass-reinforced nylon trigger guard and magazine well; one-piece, stainless steel bolt; three-position safety; sling swivel studs; and a forward-mounted Picatinny rail.

“Combining the versatility of the Scout Rifle with the powerful knockdown capability of the .450 Bushmaster cartridge, this new rifle delivers the accuracy and reliability customers have come to appreciate and expect from Ruger rifles,” the presser says.

MSRP on the Ruger Scout Rifle in .450 Bushmaster is $1,199.

Meanwhile, Ruger is following up the successful reintroduction of its 77-series bolt-action rifles with the 77/17 chambered in .17 WSM. This rifle features a 20-inch blued alloy cold hammer-forged steel barrel and American walnut stock. It also comes with an integral scope mounts machined directly on the solid-steel receiver; three-position safety; sling swivel studs; and a detachable rotary magazine. The gun also boasts an improved trigger pull over previous 77/17 WSM models, Ruger claims. MSRP is $999.

“These two additions to proven Ruger platforms will benefit a wide variety of shooters,” Ruger President and CEO Chris Killoy said. “Both rifles are examples of how we at Ruger listen to our customers and work hard to deliver on their requests.”
