Walker’s has introduced a new series of electronic earmuffs with two versions — the XCEL 100 and the XCEL 500BT — to be more comfortable while protecting ears from damaging sounds.
Both models feature an ergonomic design, with the user interface and microphones relocated from the ear cups to a control panel that is integrated into the headband. According to Walker’s, this reduces weight from the ear and optimizes the balance for better comfort when shooting.
The Walker’s XCEL 100 earmuffs feature expanded audio control and digital sound engineering via new digital chipset technology. These earmuffs use Sound-Activated Compression to automatically adjust compression time based on noise intensity and duration, rather than a fixed compression time. This provides greater protection, regardless of environment.
Even better, it comes with four listening modes that can be adjusted to a shooter’s needs. Universal is for general sound amplification, while Speech Clarity is for enhancing communication in noisy range environments. Hi Frequency is tuned to hear steel target impact at long distances, and Power Boast amplifies sound across the volume.
An integrated voice announces each mode, eliminating selection guesswork. They also have a selectable wind reduction feature, as well as an auto shut off function to save battery life.
The Walker’s XCEL 500BT has all the same features as the XCEL 100, but also includes Bluetooth for streaming audio from mobile devices, hearing notifications and even taking phone calls.
