As suppressors become more popular, manufacturers are introducing more firearms with threaded barrels. However, there are times when an unthreaded barrel is needed or required, which is the beauty of the Springfield XDM Optical Sight Pistol.
The Springfield XDM Optical Sight Pistol (OSP) now comes with two barrels—one threaded barrel with a protector along with a standard flush barrel. It also comes with a factory milled slide and suppressor-height iron sights. These features allow users to choose an optic and silencer to fit their needs.
While most purchasers will probably choose to use the threaded barrel, if an unthreaded barrel is needed for any reason, the XDM OSP can be quickly swapped. Additionally, this prevents users from purchasing ill-fitting barrels after the fact.
The Springfield XDM OSP also comes with three base plates for attaching a variety of reflex sights. However, the company offers the Vortex Venom red dot sight pre-installed as an option. The Venom features an machined aluminum housing for durability and a 3 MOA dot for rapid target acquisition. Additionally, the batteries can be easily swapped without removing the sight, which allows the unit to stay at zero.
This striker-fired semi-auto also comes with interchangeable backstraps and Mega-Lock grip texturing for fit and comfort. Its one piece full-length guide rod manages recoil for staying on target, even during rapid fire strings
The XDM OSP with threaded barrel and additional non-threaded barrel raises the bar in versatility, and displays the quality performance folks expect in a Springfield firearm.
