Streamlight is expanding its popular weapon light line for rifles with a red laser aiming device version. This puts everything needed for finding targets in the dark into a single, lightweight unit. The ProTac uses a high power LED to deliver 1,000 lumens of blinding light. However, it also comes with a low setting that kicks out only 60 lumens when needed, in addition to the laser sight.
“Tactical, military and other users alike can benefit from the ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser’s targeted bright white light and its red aiming laser with adjustable windage and elevation for enhanced accuracy,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “It also offers the functionality of double switches, including both a push button tail switch or dual remote pressure switch, to suit user preference.”
The device fits Picatinny rails, and also features a specially designed clamp allows the light to rotate to maintain windage and elevation settings in any mounted position. Also, the light features two power options. Shooters can choose between using Streamlight’s rechargeable battery or dual CR123A batteries.
Additionally, users can program the unit for their needs — high/strobe, high only or low/high. The unit is also water-resistant and impact-resistant, meaning it can handle the demands of use.
The the 18650 USB battery unit comes with a rail grabber, pushbutton tail cap switch, remote pressure switch, hardware kit and 22-inch USB cord. The CR123A unit doesn’t come with the USB cord. However, both come with a limited lifetime warranty.
