San Diego Son Kills Burglary Suspect
“The resident’s adult son opened fire on the suspect, Hollis Forman, 38, after finding his 54-year-old father being assaulted at the family’s residence on Lake Shore Drive near Lake Ree Avenue on Tuesday morning, according to police,” as reported by fox5sandiego.com.
Responding police found the victim, the father, lying on the floor bleeding from stab wounds to his upper body. Meanwhile, police found Forman dead in a swimming pool in the backyard, according to fox5sandiego.com.
“‘The (intruder) began assaulting the homeowner, at which point the homeowner’s 20-year-old son retrieved a firearm and shot the intruder,’ the lieutenant said. ‘(Forman) ran out the back door and landed in the pool,'” reported fox5sandiego.com.
Paramedics took the wounded father to a hospital; officials listed him in stable condition. Detectives ultimately determined the deadly encounter took place after the father interrupted a burglary, according to fox5sandiego.com.
