Brownells recently unveiled the Modern ARt line, and its sure to offend the anti-gun crowd, and maybe even the art world. The first edition, “The Joke-AR,” pokes fun at the art world and its recent piece that featured a banana duct taped to a plain, white background. The joke, to many, came in the form of someone purchasing said art for $120,000.
Brownells Modern ARt Line
Triggered by emerging trends in the art world, Brownells unveiled its own limited-edition Modern ARt line. It offers both a sculpture and t-shirts inspired by the sculpture. The sculpture, “The Joke-AR,” features an AR-15 magazine painted banana yellow. It utilizes a silvery tape to affix to a white background.
Brownells plans to offer only 10 signed and numbered copies of the “The Joke-AR.” Proceeds of each will benefit Special Operations Wounded Warriors, a 501(C)(3) charitable organization. The organization supports Purple Heart recipients of the U.S. Special Operations community.
Based on the sculpture, the Brownells ARt shirt bears a stylized image of the yellow magazine taped to a white wall. It features a fruit-inspired Brownells logo on the back. The ARt comes on a white t-shirt made of 50/25/25 poly/combed ring spun cotton. Shirt sizes range from small through XXXL. The ARt shirt retails for $19.99.
Brownells plans to offer both the sculpture “The Joke-AR” and the Brownells ARt Shirts in limited production, available for only a short time.
