At a recent rally in Dallas, we got a frightening look at what gun control efforts will look like under Joe Biden. Before supporters ahead of Super Tuesday, Biden declared Beto O’Rourke would lead the charge for more gun control should Biden win Gun Election 2020. If you don’t want to stomach your way through nearly nine minutes of this cutdown version of the DNC pep rally, fast forward to 8:23. That’s when Biden drops a Beto bomb.
Biden Promises Beto Will Lead Gun Control Effort
Biden made the comments before a surprisingly spirited crowd in Texas. The rally culminated with Sen. Amy Klobuchar and O’Rourke pledging their support and endorsements to Biden.
“You’re gonna take care of the gun problem with me, you’re gonna be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you, I’m counting on you, we need you badly,” Biden told a crowd in Dallas prior to Super Tuesday. “The state needs you, the country needs you, you’re the best. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Of course, Beto rose to quick infamy early on in this campaign when he declared war on gun owners. “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” he said. “We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore.”
So now after Super Tuesday, Biden pulls ahead into a two-horse race with Bernie Sanders. And he doubles down on his commitment as an anti-gun candidate by naming Beto as his “Gun Czar.” For those that had any doubt, the former vice president, by aligning with Beto, made yet another declaration against gun owners.
“For Biden to embrace Beto should erase any doubt where the former vice president truly stands on gun rights,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb in a press release. “Months ago, we vowed to let nobody forget O’Rourke’s brazen threat to take away people’s firearms, and we meant it.”
