Last year, Kimber launched an updated 1911 that drew massive attention. The Rapide Black Ice featured variants in 9mm, .45 ACP and 10mm, upgraded with enhanced components in a very stylized package. Then late last week, Kimber quietly updated the line with the Micro 9 Rapide Black Ice. And it’s every bit as cool as the original.
Kimber Micro 9 Rapide Black Ice Details
The Micro 9 Rapide takes design cues from the original. As such, it adds a new level of refinement to the Micro 9 lineup. The Micro 9 Rapide comes in 9mm. It features stepped cocking serrations and slide lightening cuts for quicker lock time. A distinctive V-shape patterned trigger, two-tone KiimPro finish and DLC coated barrel enhance performance. A flush-fitting magwell and front-strap with Stiplex pattern help deliver a sure grip.
The Micro 9 Rapide stands out, but it’s still built to carry. It features a stainless steel, match-grade 3.15-inch barrel. Tru-Glo TFX Pro day/night sights get shooters on target. Meanwhile, black G10 grips provide yet another distinctive feature. A premium aluminum trigger breaks, factory pre-set, at 7 pounds.
The Rapide Black Ice comes in as a smaller 1911 platform. It measures 4.07 inches tall, 1.08 inches wide and 6.1 inches long. Weighing just 15.6 ounces, it proves ideal for carry.
If the popularity of the original Rapide Black Ice is any indication, the new Micro 9 version should prove highly desired. For even more info, please visit kimberamerica.com.
