The popular Springfield Hellcat OSP now includes an ambi, manual safety.

Fans of the wildly popular Springfield Armory Hellcat got more good news Thursday. The company announced its latest variant, the Springfield Hellcat OSP, which features an ambidextrous, low-profile manual thumb safety.

The Hellcat continues to prove sought after for concealed carry. This week Springfield launched an all-new version, dubbed the Hellcat RDP. The variant also features a new HEX Optics Wasp red dot and a self-indexing compensator.

The OSP version brings a dedicated manual safety model in an ambidextrous configuration. Even though the platform includes several passive safety mechanisms in the striker-fired system, some shooters still prefer or need a manual safety.

To disengage the ambi safety, users merely perform a downward sweep of the thumb on either side of the pistol. The edges of the safety levers include snag-free contours. Lightly serrated, it also provides positive engagement for the user.

“The Springfield Armory Hellcat OSP with manual safety gives users yet another option with this exceptional concealed carry pistol,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of the safety and its OSP red dot mounting capability, this Hellcat is a great EDC option.”

Like the original Hellcat OSP, the new variant also comes with 11- and 13-round magazines. Meanwhile, the pistol features a 3-inch hammer-forged Melonite-coated barrel, co-witness tritium U-Dot sights and an Adaptive Grip Texture.

Lastly, the new Hellcat OSP with an ambi-safety retails for $599. For even more info, please visit
