Joe Biden 100-round magazines, Everytown Endorses Biden, Gun Election 2020 has been heating up lately, with Joe Biden going after gun companies.

President Joe Biden took to the bully pulpit today, calling on Congress to enact gun control legislation after Monday’s shooting in Boulder, Colo.

“I don’t need to wait another minute, let alone an hour, to take common sense steps that will save lives in the future,” Biden said today, according to reports.

President Biden Calls on Congress for Gun Control After Boulder Shooting

The president renewed his call for bans on “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines after Monday’s shooting in Boulder, Colo. The shooting saw 10 people killed after suspect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa opened fire at a grocery store. It comes less than one week after a district court judge struck down a prohibitive Boulder gun ban ordinance

Biden also called for closing the so-called “Gun Show Loophole,” with stronger background checks.

“We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. We can close loopholes in our gun background check system,” Biden Tweeted. “This is not a partisan issue — it’s an American issue that will save lives. Congress needs to act.”

Biden’s push for gun control attempts to counter the failures of the Obama-Biden administration. Even after several high-profile shootings during the term, pro-gun advocates defeated the Democrats.

“Nothing frustrated President Obama more than his failure to achieve gun reform, but Biden may have the chance to do something Obama just couldn’t do,” an unnamed Obama aid allegedly told CNN. “Biden is not seen as threatening to some people in a way Obama sadly was.”

Anti-Gun Storm Coming

Biden supporters continued to beat the drum this week on behalf of the president and his anti-gun agenda. Now the Senate will debate the matter after a long, well-orchestrated attack on the Second Amendment by Democrats.

“We need action on this in the country,” Cedric Richmond, senior Biden advisor, recently said. “This President has a track record of fighting against the NRA and beating them, and we need to make sure that we have sensible gun regulations in this country to ensure safety. And so we need action, not just words and prayers.”

Biden famously talked a big game during the election. He promised to go after the industry itself on day one in office, which didn’t happen. Though it appears the president only shifted gears to tackle COVID and other issues first. Now Biden and his underlings appear to be coming for our guns, just as predicted.

“It remains a commitment, a personal commitment of the President’s, to do more on gun safety, to put more measures in place, to use the power of the presidency, to work with Congress,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told CNN last week. “And certainly there’s an important role for the attorney general and the Justice Department to play in this regard. Unfortunately, don’t have any updates for you today, but it is an issue he remains committed to.”

Well, Biden sent a clear update Tuesday. He used tragedy to command headlines, putting pressure on Congress to pass anti-gun reform.
