Mossberg just launched the latest expansion to its popular MC2 line of carry pistols. The new Mossberg MC2sc comprises a micro-compact platform chambered in 9mm. Built for carry-optics and loaded with features, the MC2sc delivers a solid EDC package. We got our first range time with the new MC2sc at the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous in Idaho.
Mossberg MC2sc Details
The MC2sc brings a double-stack magazine and compact profile. The resulting package delivers increased capacity in a comfortably sized EDC pistol. The MC2sc measures 6.25 inches overall, with a 4.30-inch height and slim 1.10-inch width. It comes optics-ready as well, meeting the growing demand for carry-optics. Two frame variants, standard and cross-bolt safety, come fitted with optional TRUGLO Tritium Pro Night Sights. Capacity comes via 11-round or 14-round extended magazine.
Constructed of glass-reinforced polymer, MC2sc frames feature strength and stiffness. The 416 stainless steel slide comes with a black DLC coating. The slide features angled front and rear serrations for manipulation. Meanwhile, a removable plate allows access for mounting optics via a Shield RSMC footprint. Also, like the MC2, disassembly comes without pulling the trigger.
The pistol utilizes a 3.4-inch stainless steel barrel featuring cut-broached rifling and 1:16 twist rate. The grip exhibits an 18-degree angle, delivering a 1911 feel. A palm swell and aggressive texturing make for a positive grip. A dovetail-mounted, low-profile white 3-dot sights, oversized trigger guard, flat-profile trigger and reversible magazine release round out the features.
A flight 11-round magazine helps for better concealment. Meanwhile, a 14-round double-stack magazine provides more firepower for range or carry. Each mag comes constructed of coated steel, offering low friction and wear. Each also features an easy-to-remove floorplate for cleaning and maintenance.
Mossberg is initially offering five different options on the MC2sc. Retail prices range from $556 to $662. For even more info, please visit mossberg.com.
