Well, they’ve gone and done it again. The SIG Sauer Custom Works team once again displays its prowess with the new Equinox Elite Series. As a result, comes three new custom EDC pistols worthy of the finest collection.
The SIG Sauer Equinox Elite Series
Available in P220, P226, and P229 the Equinox Elite series revamps the popular carry pistols with exceptional styling and performance. Building out from an alloy frame with hard coat anodized finish, the Equinox Elite Series is rugged and lightweight. Additionally, each of the three models features a three-slot Picatinny rail, allowing for lights and other accessories.
The interface between flesh and steel includes black Hogue SL G-10 grips that beautifully follow the flow of the Elite Series extended beavertail. Likewise, subtle texturing on the grips promotes a solid purchase of the firearm even in wet conditions. The black frame and grips coupled with nickel-plated controls add to the contrasting style of the Equinox Elite Series.
Riding atop the frame is where the homage to the Equinox Series really takes shape. The Equinox slide design features striking two-tone forward and rear aggressive cocking serrations. A brushed steel look finishes the flats of the sides for a rugged style. By the same token, the rounded top gives the slide that distinctive SIG look. Each model comes standard with X-RAY3 Day/Night sights, providing full function in any lighting condition.
Available in either full-size or compact, the Elite Series offers both .45ACP caliber (P220 full-size) or 9mm (P229 compact and P226 full-size). Similarly, each model includes three magazines, 8-round in .45ACP and 15-round in 9mm. Correspondingly, all three models send rounds downrange via a standard curved, SRT DA/SA trigger, in matching nickel coloring.
Each pistol is packaged in a Custom Works Negrini case, complete with a SIG Custom Works challenge coin and certified custom certificate.
“For this latest release from SIG Custom Works, we have combined one of our most popular finishes with our most popular Classic Line pistols; the two-tone Equinox treatment offers a new level of customization to these SIG favorites,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc. “This is a limited-run release from SIG Custom works and based on the popularity of both the Equinox finishes and these Classic Line series of pistols, we are excited to officially begin our 2022 product year with this release.”
The SIG Sauer Equinox Elite Series of pistols are available now with an MSRP of $1,429.99 for each model. For more info, please visit SIGSauer.com.
