Following input from consumers, comes a hybrid that is the best of both worlds for concealed carry. The new Taurus G3X Hybrid compact is a design blend of the G3 full-size, coupled with the G3C compact. As a result, comes a 9mm EDC option that anyone can get on board with.
The Taurus G3X Hybrid Compact Pistol
Built on a similar full-size frame as the G3 the G3X has a grip width of 1.1 inches. Additionally, with the 15-round magazine in place, it has an overall height of 5.2 inches. However, when used with the compatible G3 17-round magazine there will be additional height, which will slightly affect overall concealment.
The grip length not only provides additional carry capacity but more room for shooters with larger hands. In addition, the slim grip features aggressive stippling which blends with the backstrap contour for maximum control and retention.
Where the G3X comes into its own is in its overall length. At 6.5 inches, the G3X is more than three-quarters of an inch shorter than the G3. As a result, it is more on par with the compact G3C, with a lower profile for EDC concealed carry.
Built on the full-size frame, similar to the G3, the G3X is also compatible with the G3 slide kit. However, for those looking for optics compatibility, it is also compatible with the G3C T.O.R.O. slide kit. The T.O.R.O. system features an optic cut with assorted mounting plates for common aftermarket red dot optics. Although, if you prefer iron sights, the G3X comes with a dovetail cut for the rear sight, allowing for aftermarket tritium night sights.
