Remember the Alamo! And while you’re at it, remember General Sam Houston and the battle of San Jacinto. This battle not only avenged the massacre at the Alamo but forced Santa Anna to sign the treaty of Velasco. As a result, Texas gained its independence. Not to mention the acquisition of New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, California, Utah, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. For this reason, SK Arms celebrates Sam Houston with its Lost States of America Engravers Series, Lost State of Jacinto 1911.
The SK Arms Lost States of America Engravers Series Jacinto Sam Houston Custom 1911
This iconic collector’s pistol transforms a Colt 1911 into a masterful piece of storytelling. The polished steel frame of the 1911 features beautiful Mesquite Burl grips, manufactured and sourced in Texas. Each grip has a 24k gold plated horse set into the wood, presumably depicting General Houston’s horse. Likewise, 24k gold plated slide stop, magazine release, hammer, manual safety lever, pins, and screws accentuate the theme.
The slide features aggressive rear cocking serrations with custom engraving just behind, on each side. On one side is scrollwork with the “Colt” logo with 24k gold plating. Likewise, the obverse side features the Monument of San Jacinto with a scroll including the serial number of each pistol, plated in 24k gold.
Just forward of the cocking serrations on the presentation side is a beautiful scroll pattern with 24k gold plated banner. The banner reads, “Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad!” to commemorate this legendary battle. On the obverse side is a similar scroll and banner with General Houston’s iconic quote, “Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may.”
Finally, the top of the slide features a portrait of General Sam Houston and the Monument of San Jacinto. Similarly, the rear of the slide shows the official seal of the State of Texas with “The Lost State of San Jacinto,” below it. Each image includes 24k gold plating and is surrounded by scroll pattern engraving. Additionally, a 24k gold plated frame surrounds the entire top imagery.
“We commemorate General Sam Houston and the Texian Army for avenging the Alamo and Goliad by launching this very exclusive limited edition of only 200 full size government model Colt 1911 pistols chambered in .45acp,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Customs. “Each pistol includes a special engraved edition number and will be accompanied with a beautiful antique silver commemorative challenge coin.”
