The SIG P320 is known for its performance and reliability, which makes it a favorite for many full-size defensive pistol fans. So, for SIG Sauer, increasing the caliber to the 10mm of the P320-XTEN was the logical next step. As a result, comes a firearm perfect for self/home defense, as well as hitting the great outdoors.
The SIG Sauer P320-XTEN
Building on the P320 platform SIG adds XSERIES updates, readying the pistol for the larger caliber. The XSERIES grip module is designed specifically for the 10mm and 45 AUTO calibers. Specifically, it features the XSERIES deep trigger undercut, extended beavertail, and aggressive stippling. As a result, the higher grip helps make the recoil of the P320-XTEN easier to manage.
Likewise, the grip module also includes a 5-slot Picatinny rail just forward of the trigger guard for lights or accessories. Although it has a capacity of 15+1, the grip still maintains a slim profile, feeling more like a 9mm. Additionally, the flared magwell ensures fast reloads when it counts most.
Riding atop the frame is the Nitron finished XTEN slide with forward and rear cocking serrations, for easy manipulation. Additionally, the XTEN comes stock with XRAY3 Day/Night sights. However, the optic cut is compatible with the ROMEO2 or Trijicon RMR optics, if you prefer.
The slide houses a premium 5-inch bull barrel. For this reason, the additional mass and weight help absorb the power of the 10mm round for excellent shot placement. Correspondingly, rounds are sent downrange from the striker-fired pistol via the flat XSERIES trigger with 90-degree break.
The P320-XTEN ships with two 15-round magazines.

One of the nice things about 10mm is it is a very solid round for outdoor trekking. This is because the caliber is capable of taking out most large predatorial animals in defense. Not to mention, it is a great equalizer when it comes to the two-legged predator as well.
