The Trijicon Dual Defense Kit
The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is constructed of 7075-T6 aluminum to MIL-spec standards. According to the company, it is one of the most rugged and durable reflex sights on the market. Weighing only 1.2 ounces, the lightweight optic is designed to withstand the rigors of hard use. This is even under the most severe environmental conditions. Its patented shape absorbs impacts and diverts stresses away from the lens.
The LED is available in 3.25 or 6.5 MOA red dot with automatic brightness mode. However, for those who like a little more control, there are eight adjustable brightness settings. The settings include two night vision and one super bright setting, all controlled via easy-push buttons. Running on a single CR2032 battery, the RMR can operate for up to four years at the brightness setting 4 out of 8.
Adding a co-witness solution is the Bright & Tough Suppressor Height night sights. They are engineered to the optimal height to be seen through the RMR’s lens. Utilizing tritium phosphor lamps, the sights provide an instant, visible sight picture in low-light conditions.
The sights are available with either white-painted rings or black-painted rings around the lamps. The white-painted rings enhance the user’s ability to obtain a sight picture in bright shooting situations. Conversely, the black-painted rings offer a minimalist view for enhanced red dot focus.

Because of the natural tendency to want to see the front sight, those new to optics tend to have a hard time finding the reticle at first. For this reason, suppressor height sights provide a natural aimpoint that shooters can easily find. This helps to bring the reticle into position much faster. Not to mention, they offer a backup aiming solution in the event the optic fails, or the battery dies.
