Designed to blend in with the interior of your vehicle, the Headrest Safe features a leatherette exterior in black, tan, light gray, or dark gray. Additionally, cloth versions are available in light gray or dark gray. However, the cloth version will also soon be available in black or tan.
Constructed of 18-gauge steel with a 16-gauge steel door, the safe is secure from unauthorized entry. In addition, to ensure comfort, it is completely covered in ½-inch foam rubber, and wrapped in a leatherette or cloth cover. If you are concerned about color matching or the quality of the leatherette, the company encourages you to reach out to them for a sample swatch.
The Headrest Safe is accessible via biometric thumbprint, mechanical key, or user-programmable code. Users can program any code between 4-8 digits, while the biometric thumbpad accepts up to 48 user entries. Operating on 2 AAA batteries, the safe can run for up to one year before needing a battery replacement.
Installation of the Headrest Safe is easy and compatible with virtually all vehicles with a two-prong post headrest pattern. Once the headrest is installed, it locks in place and can only be removed by you.
It is designed to be installed on the passenger side for easy accessibility by the driver. However, duty officers may opt to install it on the driver’s side for quick access to firearms secured when exiting the vehicle. This is perfect for court appearances, etc. An additional headrest is available to ensure that you have matching, identical headrests in your vehicle.
Each safe includes a Gun Snuggie to keep your pistol stable, upright, and secure inside the safe.
